Thomasville Antiques Show & Sale
February 23-26, 2012
Speaker Spotlight

The Thomasville Antique Show again is bringing nationally known figures in the world of interior design, floral design and interior history to Thomasville this year.
On Friday, February 24th we are delighted to welcome Susan Crater and Libby Cameron of Sister Parish Design. Both women have close ties to our community through their families or their own professional or personal experience working with Sister Parish on the interior design of Greenwood Plantation for Mr. and Mrs. Jock Whitney.
Susan Bartlett Crater and her mother, Apple Bartlett, wrote Sister: The Life of Legendary Decorator Mrs. Henry Parish II. Susan is the granddaughter of Sister Parish. Sister Parish was the Grande Dame of interior design in America for the last half of the twentieth century before her death in 1994. Her clientele included all the notable families in the Northeast including the Whitney’s, the William Paley’s, the Percy’s, the Astors’ as well as work at the White House during the Kennedy administration.
Currently Libby Cameron, who worked for Sister Parish at Parish-Hadley Associates after Mrs. Parish’s death and is considered her last protégé, is now a partner in Sister Parish Design along with Susan Crater. Ms. Cameron has decorated homes all over the United States, England and the Bahamas. Her work has been featured in House & Garden; Architectural Digest; Elle Décor; the New York Times and in the current issue of House Beautiful as well as many other magazines and books. http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/instant-sitting-room
